TIPS TO AVOIDING REFUND DELAYS

Posted By: Jennifer O'Neill // Nov 29, 2016

Beginning in 2017, if using a software product for the first time to self-prepare your return, you'll need your adjusted gross income (AGI) from your prior year return.

The "Protecting Americans from Tax Hikes Act of 2015 (PATH ACT) requires anybody that hasn't used their Individual Taxpayer Identification Number (ITIN) for tax years 2013-2015 or had one issued prior to 2013 will need to renew their ITIN.  This process typically takes 7 weeks to receive an ITIN letter, but can take 9-11 weeks, so plan ahead to avoid delaying the filing of your return which will delay any refund you are entitled to.
